Pole Dance FAQ: Your Top 3 Questions Answered

Pole Dance FAQ: Your Top 3 Questions Answered

Starting pole can feel intimidating — but you’re not alone. Whether you're curious, nervous, or just getting started, here are answers to three of the most common questions we hear from new students.

  1. I don’t know if I can do this… What if I’m not flexible or strong enough?” You don’t need to be strong or flexible to start pole — that’s exactly what training helps you build! Every move can be modified, and progress looks different for everyone. What matters most is showing up and giving it a try.
  2. What should I wear to class?” Skin contact helps with grip, so shorts and a tank top or sports bra are ideal. But wear what makes you feel comfortable — there’s no pressure to dress a certain way.
  3. Why am I not getting this move yet?” Pole is a skill-based practice, and some moves take time to click. It’s totally normal to face challenges at first — your body is learning something brand new! Progress isn’t linear, and even seasoned dancers have off days. Trust the process and celebrate small wins.

Pole is a journey, not a race. Whether you're just starting or deep in your practice, these questions are part of the process. Keep showing up, keep asking, and keep celebrating every step forward.
